School rules
Access to the school
Always use the school’s outside stairs to enter the classrooms, so that occupancy can be monitored more closely.
Always use the inside stairs when leaving the school.
Please follow the signs.
Rules for school life
Games consoles, mobile phones and tablets are not allowed at school, nor are jewellery or sharp or blunt objects.
Toys and cards must not be brought to school either.
Children’s clothes should be comfortable, labelled with their name and suitable for the weather, to support their independence.
Wearing or displaying religious items or clothing is prohibited at school.
Scarves are not allowed in the playground because misuse can put children’s safety at risk.
Pupils are also strictly prohibited from bringing nuts, chewing gum or sweets to school.
Lateness
Lateness disrupts children and the smooth running of the class.
Please be punctual. Children may enter the classrooms between 9:00 and 9:20 am.
Teachers are available to parents at the end of the school day, but we recommend making an appointment so you can discuss your child more calmly.
School Transportation
Any change of bus route must be communicated to the school management in writing.
If, exceptionally, your child will not take the bus, the school management must be notified at least 15 minutes before classes finish.
NO child will be released to a third party without written parental authorisation, unless that person presents this authorisation on site together with an identity document.
Medication
Teachers are not authorised to administer any medication.
NEVER GIVE MEDICATION TO YOUR CHILD TO BRING TO SCHOOL
Medication and prescriptions must be handed to the school management.
Please report contagious illnesses promptly. A child may return to school only with a medical certificate confirming that they are no longer contagious.
A child with a fever will not be admitted to class.
We advise families to check their children’s scalp regularly to help prevent head lice and avoid their spread.
Use of photographs
As part of its educational activities, l’École Pomme d'Api may take and use photographs of pupils within the school. These photographs are exclusively for internal use and the class blog, and will never be publicly accessible. At the start of the school year, parents must provide written consent authorising the school to take these photographs.
No child will be photographed by l’École Pomme d'Api without their parents’ express consent.
Parents accompanying school trips may wish to take photographs. The same applies to school events attended by parents. Please keep these images strictly for personal and private use, and never publish or share them on social media or in WhatsApp groups.
Communication with families
Please inform the education team of any changes in your child’s circumstances during the school year that could affect their behaviour, such as births, moves, divorce or bereavement.
Any document handed to the teacher must include your child’s first name, surname, date and class.
School lunch arrangements
If a child stops having school lunches, the current month will be charged in full. Any proposed change to lunch arrangements for the term must be communicated to the school management in writing.
Children who do not normally eat at school may do so if their family wishes, by informing the teacher the day before or that same morning. The school administration will invoice these meals.
School fees
Invoices are issued termly, in October, January and April.
We will notify you seven days before the direct debit.
If a pupil joins after the term has started or does not attend a complete term during the school year, that term must be paid in full.
In all cases, parents must inform the school management of the reasons for the absence at least 15 days in advance. The management will assess whether the school fees remain payable in full or qualify for a partial refund.
